Why we plan before we start? Why we don't start straight away and we figure it out during the process?
Why we procrastinate?
Every time we have a task who looks bigger and more complicated, our brain reacts and gives us an overwhelming and paralyzing feeling.
We procrastinate because naturally, we try to find a comfort zone that keeps us in a calm and relaxed state and where our brain is not challenged.
How to create a plan?
A plan will save you time, money, and a lot of stress in the long run.
- You can visualize the big picture, with the important and less important tasks
- Can give you an idea of time
- Keep your anxiety controlled
- Give you a possibility of fail, because is your plan
I am a big fan of lists, if you ask anyone about me, they will tell you about my lists.
In fact, is where we can start when we feel overwhelmed and stress, put everything in the paper, look like a simple thing to do, but as soon you can visualize all your tasks your brain starts relaxing.
Divide the tasks into three columns, urgent, important, and not important, and focus on the important tasks. Everybody has their own time, some people are more creative in the morning others in the afternoon, the important thing is you find your best time to perform the task, and finish it before you move to the next one.
'By failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail.'
By Benjamin Franklin
Easy to say than done, of course.
Do not feel bad if you are taking more time than you assume, allow yourself to make mistakes. It's ok
You can always analyze your mistakes and do better next time. Do not forget to be proud of yourself every time you finish a task. Keep yourself motivated, and good luck in your journey. You can do amazing things if you try!
